Walter "Wally" Farrell

Obituary Condolences


Walter "Wally" Eugene Farrell, of Oakland, California, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, of complications from heart failure. He was 68.


Wally spent most of his childhood in the Chicago area and served his country with the United States Air Force in both Europe and Southeast Asia. He excelled in various engineering/technical management and leadership positions over the next four decades.


Wally was renowned for his great cooking, his devotion to his wife, his generous heart, and his great pride in his children and grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife, Peg Farrell, of Oakland; and his sister, Bonnie Grady, and his aunt, Patricia Brdas, both of the Chicago area. He will be greatly missed by his sons Donald (Natascha) Farrell of Redmond, Washington; Patrick (Marieke) Farrell of Bloomington, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Alec, Caitlin Aidan, Kane, and Skye; his step-sons Jason (Sarah) Hardaway of Portland, Oregon; Aaron (Bree) Hardaway of Woodland, California; his step-grandchildren, Cristofer and Aaden; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
