William Heinicke Obituary

William Luther Heinicke 73, b. 9 Jan 1937 - 2 Sept 2010. Life time resident of San Francisco. Beloved Son of Dolores Lopes and William Heinicke; beloved father of Regina Islas and Prema Key. Brother of Albert, Joseph and Charles Heinicke; preceded in death by sister Loretta Webb, brothers Alfred and Gino Heinicke; survived by many adored nieces and nephews. Bill fought in the Korean War as a Major in the US Army. Esteemed Brother of Heat and Frost Insulators, Local 16, proud member of San Carlos Airport Pilot's Association (SCAPA), Bill was deputized several years ago and was an active participant of the San Francisco Sheriff's Air Squadron. Bill's true avocation was flying; as a pilot for 50 years he was held in affectionate and high regard by his peers in the flying community. In Bill we have all lost a unique and valuable friend. His willingness to help others, his wit, charm, and zest for life will stay with us always and remind us that while he was with us he made his presence known. He shared the joy of his existence with many friends and admirers. We are all still trying to accept the fact that he has gone, in the months and years to come, his memories will warm our hearts in ways we cannot know today. When those moments come, cherish them and know that he was very proud of his family. He is now in the company of many of his dear friends who "Went West" before him. They will treat him well, as he did them. William Luther "Bill" Heinicke, our thoughts are with you, "Climb to the Heavens, Ride the Skies forever! " Services to be held: St. Elizabeth's on Saturday, 25 September, 1:00pm, 459 Somerset St. San Francisco, CA. In lieu of flowers please donate to Saint Elizabeth's Church.
