Obituary Condolences

Elvera (Ellie) Fusco

On January 27, 2014, Elvera (Ellie) passed away peacefully. Prior to her passing, Monsignor John Talesfore anointed her in the presence of her close friends. Ellie is survived by dear family members residing in Brooklyn, NY and by many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Salvatore and Luisa Fusco, her brothers Frank and Lorenzo (Larry) Fusco, and her sister, Mildred Fusco.

Ellie graduated from George Washington High School and San Francisco College for Women (Lone Mountain) where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and her teaching credential. She taught for thirty three years in the San Francisco Unified School District at both Francisco Junior High School and Marina Junior High School and served as a Counselor at Francisco Junior High School. In addition, she was awarded a Master of Arts in Education from San Francisco State University and continued graduate studies at Stanford University School of Education. She was very devoted to the Religious of the Sacred Heart and was President of the Children of Mary Sodality for ten years, President of the Alumnae of the Sacred Heart Lone Mountain, as well as a member of the Duchesne Society. She was an active member of the San Francisco Auxiliary for Children benefiting Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. She will be sadly missed by her family, many dear friends, and former students.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Convent of the Sacred Heart, 2222 Broadway, San Francisco. Complimentary valet parking provided.
