A charming, quick-witted woman with a big heart, a wicked sense of humor and an iron will, Mary was a force to be reckoned with and always made an impression. In 1950 Mary began a 52 year career with Local 26 and Local 75 labor unions, retiring as Vice President in 2002 at age 86. Mary loved her work in the union and fought passionately for the rights of workers and employers.
Mary was a woman of many talents who loved to keep busy. A devout Catholic and supporter of St. Anne's Church, St. Jude's Shrine and Little Sisters of the Poor, Mary was an avid knitter, gardener, shopper, cook, baker and linguist, a hard worker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Mary touched the lives of many and her vivacity and elegance will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Julius Medina, son Leonard Medina, sisters Ann Ortega, Mani Glanz and Zita Del Magro. Mary is survived by her son Alan (Helen) Medina, and grandchildren Alexandra (Andy) Castro, Santino, Irish, Maggie, Jessica and Leigh Medina.
