Ann Geraldine "Gerry" O'Neill

Passed away peacefully on July 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in San Francisco on September 13, 1924, attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco, Lone Mountain College and graduated with the class of 1946 from Dominican College with BA in Education.

She taught elementary school in San Francisco prior to marrying the love of her life, John H O'Neill, in 1952. and She lived more that 54 years in the house that he built for their family in Kentfield, where she raised 6 young children by herself after his untimely death in 1968.

She started a lifelong vocation of volunteerism as a Red Cross Nurse's Aide during WW2. She was a tireless member and officer of the St. Vincent's School for Boys Auxiliary, a member of Catholic Social Services Auxiliary and CCD instructor at St Anselm's and St. Sebastian Churches. She was an avid traveler and visited countless cities on 4 continents.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas F and Margaret L Kiernan, her sister Joan Coyne, brothers Jack and Tom Kiernan and her beloved husband Jack. She is survived by her children Shauna O'Neill Gracia (Carlos), John H. O'Neill, Jr. (Renee), Suzanne Legnitto (Bob), Thomas O'Neill, Christiane O'Banion (Kevin), and Colleen Grant (Richard) and her cherished grandchildren Robin, Gina (Garrett), and Jack O'Neill, Robert, Dominique, Phillip and Gabrielle Legnitto, John, Alessandro and Nicolas Gracia, Matthew (Tracy) and Anna O'Banion, Brianna, Cara and J J Grant.

The Vigil Service is 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20th followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21st , both services held at St. Anselm Catholic Church, Ross.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Vincent's School for Boys or the Memory and Aging Center Fund B1871, UCSF Foundation, PO Box 45339, San Francisco, CA 94145-0339.
