Harry Miller Smith

March 3, 1919 - July 31, 2014

On July 31, "Honest" Harry Miller Smith passed away at his home in Redwood City. Born March 3rd, 1919 in San Francisco, a graduate of Mission High School, Harry served in the Pacific Theatre with the Navy SeaBee's during World War 2. He worked for the S.F. Public Works Dept. for 32 years, also was a member of the N.S.G.W., Twin Peaks Parlor #214 for the past 75 years. Harry exemplified a kind and generous soul, and was a committed family man. Married for 69 years to his lovely bride, Dorothy (Commins), he was a loving father to four children: daughter Sue Ferreira (Jim), son Don Smith (Vicki), daughter Debbie TenBruggencate (Al), and daughter Donna Smith (David). He was devoted Grandpa to six grandchildren: Kevin and Jason Ferreira, Brent (Karina) and Drew TenBruggencate, Eric and Joshua Smith. Join his family in a celebration of his life on Aug. 12 at 11:00 am at St. Matthias Church, 1685 Cordilleras Rd., Redwood City. In honor of his memory, donations may be made to the N.S.G.W.
