Cynthia Brown Obituary
Cynthia Lee Brown Died peacefully in her San Anselmo home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 12, 2010, after her long battle with cancer. She was born February 16, 1955 in Henderson, KY and moved to California in 1965. Cindy entered Mills College at the age of 16 and graduated with a BS in Biology. She worked for 30 years as a Biomedical Researcher at UCSF developing life-saving medications for pre-mature infants. While continuing her work at UC, she challenged herself by entering Golden Gate Law School in 2002. At the age of 50, she completed her law degree. After her internship with the San Francisco District Attorney's office, she accepted a job with the law firm of Hersh & Hersh, where she specialized in civil litigation. Along with her enthusiastic pursuit of knowledge and her dedication to work, Cindy was a devoted and loving mother. She spent years as a Girl and Boy Scout leader and always found time to volunteer in the classroom. Over the years, Cindy adopted numerous rescue animals. She had a huge heart and no pet was ever turned away. She will be remembered for her practical advice, her unceasing optimism and her ready sense of humor. She was an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched and loved by all. She is survived by her husband, Bob, and their 2 children, Adrian and Andy; her mother, Doris Jean Brown; her siblings, Darry Guli, Kathleen Rafael, Scott Brown and Rhonda Winner, along with her many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at the Robson-Harrington House in San Anselmo on Wednesday, February 17th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
