Kathleen Rasmussen Obituary
Kathleen Marjorie McGill Rasmussen Age 80, of Menlo Park, passed away at home with family at her side, on May 31, 2010. Kathleen was born in Ely, Nevada on October 10, 1929, to Neil and Ozella McGill. Growing up in Ely, she then attended the University of Nevada in Reno. In her twenties Kathleen moved to the San Francisco Bay area while furthering her education. Kathleen worked as a medical transcriber for most of her adult life, working at Santa Rosa General, Santa Rosa Memorial, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Seton Hospital and St. Lukes Hospital. She was a hard worker and very conscientious. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge, taking care of her animals. Friends enjoyed her stories of her exploits and travels. Kathleen loved to travel. She traveled to Fiji, Australia, South Carolina, Florida, Grand Tetons and the Grand Canyon. Kathleen is survived by her loving family, 6 children and their spouses: Michael Rasmussen (Lynda) of Tacoma, Janet Jeys (Jon) of Salt Lake City, Karen Anne Sammut (Dennis) of Woodside, John Rasmussen (Patti) of Elk Grove, Karol Appiano (Rick) of Hayward, Erik Rasmussen (Jane) of Aldinga, Australia, and her neice Molly Moriarty of San Diego. Additionally she is survived by her seventeen grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on June 16, 2010 at Christ Church, 815 Portola Rd., Portola Valley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Kathleen's memory to Vitas Hospice, 39899 Balentine Drive, Suite 161, Newark, CA 94560.
