John "Jack" Webb, Jr. March 23,1931 -June 29, 2010 Passed June 29, 2010 at the age of 79. Son of the late SFFD Battalion Chief John "Spider" Webb and Esther, Jack was a San Francisco native, and graduate of Sacred Heart HS, SF City College, and SF State University, he is survived by his wife, Beverly, 5 children, John (Denise), Kevin, Vicki, Colleen Fatooh (Peter), and Dennis (Annette), as well as four grandchildren, John, Elizabeth, Martin and Anne. Jack also leaves behind his brother Richard (Suzanne) and his children Shon and Amber. Jack served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in the Korean War, after which he joined the SF Police Department, retiring as an inspector. Jack was deeply involved in the Irish community and a strong supporter of the Northern Irish peace movement. Jack was the owner of Ireland's 32, as well as Grand Marshal of the St. Patrick's day parade. Jack's motto was "life is about living" and he exemplified that every day until the end. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, including caregiver Patrick O' Connell, and Joanne Utter. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 1st at St. Gabriel Church, 40th Ave and Ulloa St., San Francisco. A Vigil/Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. also on Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 2nd also at St. Gabriel Church beginning at 11 a.m. Please make donations to the Widows and Orphans Aid Association of the Police Department of San Francisco, P.O.
