James Trachta Obituary

James M. Trachta 1946 - 2011 Died peacefully March 6, 2011 from oral cancer. Born and raised in San Francisco, James is survived by his wife of 35 years Kathleen Smith, his son Jeremy Rozen and his daughter Marina Rozen. A highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, James later became an aide to State Senator Milton Marks. He will be remembered by those who knew him well as a dedicated student of guitar, a kind and generous friend, unfailingly courteous in the face of an implacable illness, and one who paid a high price to serve and defend his country. The family thanks Fort Miley VA Hospital and Care Meridian for their many kindnesses while providing end of life care.

Kathleen,
It's been a long time since our days at Natomas, but I still remember your charming husband. He had a good woman at his side. May the memories of the times you shared together ease your pain.

James was been such an understanding and faithful friend we will miss him terribly. He had the patience to just listen to whatever is bothering us and at the end of our talk (whether long or short) he was able to make us feel happy again with his wisdom and calmness and kindness.

James was and always will be in my prayers. He was the kindest and coolest person I have ever known. And, also, the very best brother-in-law a woman could have. Love you and miss you James.

James was a true and dear friend through thick and thin.
James had a real knack for telling jokes and stories, and reveled in telling new ones almost daily. James was without
a doubt the best company to keep while watching Dialing
for Dollars, and I will miss him very much.
