Matthew Scott Mackey Jan. 31, 1972 - April 22, 2012 Born and raised in San Francisco where he attended school at Stuart Hall. He was a Scout in Troop 88, and developed a great love of outdoor adventure. He resided in Sonoma for fifteen years where he tended a vineyard and organic garden. Survived by parents Donna and Elliott, Daughters Malena and Marisol and their mother Maria Cabada, brothers James (Kendra), Paul (Suzanne) and sister Elizabeth (Cooper) Mackey-Bethea. Avid adventurer, gardener, outdoorsman, camper, fisherman, and scuba diver. Matt had a special connection with nature and animals. A great lover of the sea, he had many fishing adventures in Baja and the SF Bay. He became a commercial fisherman and crabber out of Fisherman's wharf. His many travels took him to Jamaica, Japan and Central America. Matt was a kind and generous man, he was a devoted father, son, brother and friend of many. He will be missed by all and in our hearts forever. Memorial Mass at St. Francis Solano Church, Sonoma, Wednesday May 2, 11 a.m., gathering to follow at Sonoma Community Center. In lieu of flowers, an account has been established for his daughters. Donations: care of Elizabeth Mackey for his children at West America Bank, 202 West Napa St. Sonoma, CA 95476.
