Catherine "Katie" Priolo A loving and devoted mother, as well as a dear friend to many, went home to God on July 6, 2012. Born and raised in Fresno, she married John Priolo, the love of her life in 1939, and moved to San Francisco. When John died at the age of 42, she raised her four children on her own by working many jobs to sustain her family. The most special was as head waitress at the Italian American Social Club in San Francisco. She retired in 1989 and moved to Rohnert Park. There, she delighted in spending time with family and friends and showing all what love really means. Catherine had a strong love of the Catholic faith and had a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to whom she prayed daily. Catherine is lovingly survived by her children Lena "Nina" Smith and her husband Gene; Phillip Priolo and his wife Joan; Joyce Baker and her husband Allen; and Johnna Bjonerud and her late husband Paul. Adored grandmother of Paul (Christina), Geno, Debbie (Jim), Phil (Lisa), Jerry (Teena), Jennifer, John Michael, Michael, Katie, and Greg, and great grandmother of 9. Dear sister of Isabel DeMera, Rose Barros, Julius Mastro, and the late John Mastro and Frank Mastro. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine will also be sadly missed by her neighbors and friends Kathy and Richard Einselen and family, Janice and Gary Dyer and family, and Connie Sclare. Catherine enjoyed cooking and gardening, but most of all she enjoyed spreading love and laughter to those around her. Friends are invited to celebrate a Funeral Mass on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 150 St. Joseph Way, Cotati.
