Arthur Eugene Brooks
July 25, 1961 - August 17, 2012
Born and raised in San Francisco, Arthur was a big man with a big heart who loved his family and friends. A gentle giant who made friends wherever he went. He worked at the family business, Ellis Brooks Chevrolet, from 12 years of age. Arthur was influential in many lives especially in the last eleven years. He had a zest for life. He enjoyed camping at the lake and jet skiing with his good friend Rick. He enjoyed classic car shows and traveling to rodeos to cheer on his nieces and nephews.
Beloved son of Marie and Ellis Brooks (1972). Survived by his wife Angelina Brooks, mother Marie Brooks, brother Ellis Brooks Jr (Patti), sisters, Hallie Alameda (Walter), Ann Brooks, Linda Hagemann (Augie), Cathey Goodman (Stephen), nephew John Brooks (Melody), Uncle Bob Leslie (Marilyn), and many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 5 - 8pm at HALSTED N. GRAY - CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St, San Francisco. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 12:30pm at Lake Merced Church of Christ, 777 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco. Graveside service to follow at Cypress Lawn (Colma) immediately followed by celebration of life at Lake Merced Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (www.bcan.org) or Brian Lair Memorial Fund (for Brain Cancer research) at Amarillo National Bank.

As the automotive advertising executive from the SF Chronicle that handled Ellis Brooks Chevrolet for many years between 1995-2001, I found myself chatting with this lovely gently man many times in the dealership. . A sweet, kind hearted man who's memory I will treasure. Heaven is gaining an angel. My deepest sympathy to Marie and family. May God give you comfort during these difficult ttime.
