HANS MYRNER Obituary


Hans Peter Myrner
71, died peacefully at home on Aug. 21st after a long struggle with ALS.
Born in Denmark, where he lived until age 10. He then embarked on the adventure of his life, traveling to Africa with his family and living there for the next three years. Upon returning to Denmark, he completed his education at Bagsvaerd Kostskole. After finishing his Danish military service he came to California where he discovered his passion for furniture and design, building a successful business. He also pursued his love for sailing, completing the Singlehanded Transpac in 1994 and sailing in Mexico with his family.
Peter lived a life of adventure. He accepted each challenge ALS presented continuing to live life to its fullest. He was a teacher to all that knew him.
Peter's family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife Shawna Myrner and their children Jens and Poul; his ex wife Jean Myrner and their children Linda Donohue and Niels Myrner; His sister Lisbeth Gotthelf and brothers Niels, Ib and Poul Myrner. A memorial service will be held Sept. 9th, 2 pm, at Muir beach Community Center, 19 Seacape Dr. In Lieu of flowers please send donations to ALS Assoc. Golden West Chapter, One Embarcadero Center, Ste 1530 San Francisco, Ca. 94111.
