Dr. Donald William
76 years old of San Francisco, CA died on 10/12/12 as the result of side effects following an ablation procedure which destroyed his lungs.
He was born on 3/21/1936 in Washington, DC. He was the son of the late Anthony and Claire DePoto of Washington, DC.
He is survived by William E. Fobert of San Francisco his partner of 41 years and brothers Richard DePoto of Washington, DC and William DePoto of TN.
Also surviving are nephews Anthony and Eric DePoto, and nieces Kimberly Becket and Jennifer DePoto as well as cousin Paul DeMarco of MD.
Donald attended Georgetown University both as an undergraduate and then the Medical School. He did his Radiology residency at UPenn. He was on the staff of UC Davis Medical School before joining Kaiser Permanente. He retired as the Chief of Radiology at the San Francisco Kaiser Medical Center more than 16 years ago.
Don enjoyed his life and loved his family and friends and his pets. He was fortunate to have been able to travel to all 7 continents on several trips with Bill. Don enjoyed music, books, movies, theater, and fine dining.
Burial will take place in Washington, DC.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of his life will be said at St. John the Evangelist Church at 19 St. Mary's St. in San Francisco 94112 on Sat. 9/20 at 11:00AM.
Donations may be made in his memory to the SF SPCA.
