Dear Komes Family,
How lucky we were to celebrate Flora's 100th last year in the beautiful vineyard surrounded by family and friends.
She was radiant that day, covered in leis and regal as a queen. What a wonderful lady with a quick wit and a sparkle in her eye.
We send our love and sympathy as we know she will be missed. I know Otto will be glad to see her and they will have a wonderful reunion. I'm sure Jerry will take her out on a heavenly date. I know the Lord will welcome her into His Heavenly Kingdom.
God bless you all with love,
Linda and Tony Friscia

Dear Julie – I'm not sure when I started reading the obituaries in the SF Chronicle but I do read them often and I have found that while many tell interesting stories, every now and again there is a gem that makes me stop and say “what an incredible life.” I felt that way about your Mom's tribute last week.
I think it was her picture that made me read it. What a great smile! I missed the Flora Springs reference in the beginning – the sentence “Flora always described her live as beautiful” drew my eye so it wasn't until the end I realized it was your Mom. What a blessing to be raised by this wonderful person – and who you are and what you do is a clear reflection of her strength and kindness. Thanks to you and your family for sharing her story so beautifully. Kendall and I send our love to you and Pat.

Dear Julie, Throughout the many years at CSH, I would look forward to seeing your mom when she came to school. She was always genuine and kind, and as a young girl, I felt sincerely heard. 'Mrs. Komes' was a wonderful role model; we were all blessed to have known her! A century of love!
Fondly, Carla (Lastreto) Carstens
