Inez (Peggy) King, 94, a long-time resident of Oakland, CA, died November 18th at home after a long illness.

Born in Houlka, MS, July 31, 1918, Peggy received her Nursing degree, joined the Navy and served during WWII. After the war, she married and had three children; Jim (Mary), Susan and David (Debbie). She is survived by her husband Wally, her children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, her sister Reecie (Wilson) Turner and her favorite niece, Ann Smith.
She was the Director of Nursing of Herrick Hospital in Berkeley until the late 1970's.
She and Wally married in 1981 and she retired shortly there-after. They enjoyed traveling, in particular visiting Hawaii every year, entertaining at home, tennis and playing bridge. They survived the Oakland fire but lost their home.
She was a remarkable, strong willed and successful woman. She was devoted to Wally and her children. She will be missed and remembered always.
