Prior to starting his business he served in the Marine Corp and Army from 1956-59. His charitable passions were his non-profits (Haight Asbury Clinic), (Vine Village, Napa), (LA Conservation Corps) to name a few. He loved his race horses, Erniewho and Danzin with Franklin. He loved his bay area sports teams and on any given Sunday you could find him in his 1970s chair and ottoman cheering on his favorite teams. He was also a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ernie could likely be found after work at his favorite hangout the Big 4, sitting in his favorite stool at the end of the bar. Ty already had his favorite glass of cab ready to go.
