Patricia "Patty" Seyms
9/21/49 - 2/28/13
Patty was the bravest person I have ever known. There has never been a more decent, honest, trusting, non-demanding, more beautiful person both inside and out that I have been fortunate enough to share my life with.
Patty passed away on February 28, 2013, after a 7 year battle with brain impairment disease. Patty resided in Danville and was cared for during this long journey by her partner, husband, and dedicated caregiver Dave Koncelik. Patty was diagnosed in late 2005 with early stage dementia, and a year later with breast cancer having to then deal with the ravages of surgery. Patty and Dave stayed together right until the end.
Patty was a graduate of Cal Poly with a degree in literature and later became a licensed paralegal. She was a dedicated single mom who raised her daughter Laura Vickerman Diffenderfer, who is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and San Francisco State University. Laura now resides in San Francisco with her husband Tim.
Patty and Dave were married in early 2003. 2 years later she was diagnosed with her disease. She fought a long hard battle against all odds and never once asked "why me." To say she will be missed is not remotely close to how we all feel with the loss of this dear sweet woman, my wife.
