Anne Richardson

Anne Richardson died on October 2nd, 2013 at the age of seventy. A graduate of Berkeley High School and the University of California at Berkeley, she earned a doctorate in English Literature from Yale University and an M.L.S. from the UC Berkeley School of Library and Infornation Studies. She taught English at Albertus Magnus College and at George Washington University. Publishing extensively on the expatriate English Bible translator William Tyndale, she was active in the Modern Language Association of America, the William Tyndale Society, The Amici Thomae Mori ("Friends of Thomas More"), and the Bay Area's independent scholar's organization, The Institute for Historical Study. For much of her life she was an active amateur cellist. She is survived by her sister, Courtney Simson, her nieces, Jennifer Brontsema and Amy Strauss, her nephew, Tom Van Vechten, and cousins Nancy and Dick Bryan, Jane Bryan Jones, Nancy Tietge, and Gordon and Duncan Strauss. There will be a memorial service for family in November at a private home. Donations may be given to The American Cancer Society or the Berkeley Food and Housing Project in Anne's name.
