Sandra Cuadra Obituary
"Sandy"Daughter of the late Ovidio and Esperanza Cuadra passed away peacefully on October 29th surrounded by her family and friends after bravely battling cancer for close to two years.
Born in San Francisco on February 15, 1964, she is survived by her sisters Maria, Lisa and Patty, aunt “Tia�, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, friends and colleagues who love and will miss her deeply.
Sandy opened her heart and her home to so many, and demonstrated the meaning of a true “giving� individual. A proud San Francisco Native, and an icon to the Mission District, Sandy worked for the City and County of San Francisco for 26 years and was a lifetime SF Giants and 49er fan.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, from 1:00pm - 6:00pm at Duggan’s Funeral Service, 3434 17th Street, nr Valencia, San Francisco.
ROSARY will be on Monday, November 4, at 7:30pm at St. Peter’s Church, Alabama Street, between 24th and 25th Streets, San Francisco. FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 5th, at 1:30pm. also at St. Peter’s Church, Committal Holy Cross Cemetery.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to all of the Cuadra Family. Sandy was a beautiful and loving person with a generous soul. I loved her infectious smile and how her eyes would light up, too. She was always happy and made time for all her friends. I didn't realize that the last time I saw her, would in fact...be the last time. I wish I could go back to that night, so I could tell her how much I loved, respected and appreciated her. God bless you Sandy and may you rest in peace. Maria, Lisa and Patty and to all of Sandy's family. Taken way to soon. She was one of the most God giving person I knew. Such a big heart and a larger than life soul. It was 34 years ago when we all met in highschool, had that long braid in her hair and she stayed true to who she was since day one. I will miss her deeply. Maria, Lisa, Patty, and family please accept my deepest sympathies and condolences. Sandy was a beautiful individual, whom remained a beacon of light throughout her battle with cancer. Her legacy will forever remain a caring nonjudgmental person. Although I am saddened by the early departure, I truly believe she is in a better place looking down upon us. Sending my dearest and sincere Condolences to the Cuadra Familia. My heart is heavy and I am overwhelmed with sadness for the loss of your beautiful and loving Sister Sandy. I know she is in a better place and no longer suffering but I guess I am selfish because I want her here with all of us. I know our Lord walked her into Heaven because she IS One of the Great ones. Sadly I didn't even know that Sandy was battling with cancer so this morning when I found out she had passed I was a bit blown away. As I think back into what I call old Mission memories much of it is dark like an old film noir movie but when Sandy crosses my memory it's always in bright light. To me Sandy was always a bright light in a dark place. She helped us all. She loved us all and she was down for us all. If I had to select a few people to send to a new planet to start up a new perfect world Sandy would be in my selection. She was a great example of what it is to be a great humanitarian. Sandy and I shared an incredible love for oldies and I hope that she's now listening to some great oldies with my brother and all of the other homies that have gone too soon. I now have the deep regret that I never told Sandy that she was one of my favorite people of all time. I have sadly missed that opportunity but maybe her family will find some comfort in knowing this. Sandy was a very special lady and will never be forgotten. My condolences & prayers to the family. May God bless and give you strength in this sad time.

Although I hadn't seen Sandy in many years my son told me of Sandy's illness she was always included in my prayers. What can be said of such an exceptional and dynamic woman who was always clear on her love of the Mission district community, and continued to work hard to obtain her goals professionally. We should all be so lucky to have known such a special lady and to have all the wonderful qualities that where Sandy. You will always have a place in my heart and our community has lost one of its precious leaders, but I know you have a very special place at our Lords side. God bless you and your family.
