Samuel Clark Obituary

Samuel C. Clark

Samuel C. Clark, age 42
He died in San Francisco on April 15, in the aftermath of several manic episodes resulting from bipolar disorder. He is survived by his father Max in Shanghai, his mother Barbara in Naples, FLA and his brother Tom in Saudi Arabia. He was raised in Belmont, MA, and attended Belmont High School, where he starred in many theatrical productions, excelled in vocal ensembles, and served as president of his class. He also lived overseas with his family and made many friends in Bogota, Colombia; Manila, Philippines; Larnaca, Cyprus; and Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated from Yale University in 1996, majoring in political science and international relations. He was a member of the Yale Glee Club, and traveled with them throughout Europe. Thereafter, his career was spent in San Francisco, a city he dearly loved. He worked for META Group starting in 1998, and then worked primarily in corporate marketing for a succession of business software firms, including PeopleSoft, SAP, and Workday. He loved snowboarding, running, and most importantly to him, being with his friends. Sam will be remembered for his wit, fun costumes, kindness and love for life. He had a big heart and will be forever missed. His relatives and friends are planning a memorial service to be held on 13 June 2015 in San Francisco. Boston-area friends will hold a memorial service on August 15; contact [email protected] for details. Condolences can be posted, and details on the SF memorial service can be seen, at www.facebook.com/sam.c.clark.

I was so sorry to hear of cousin Sam's passing and struggles. I have fond memories of our childhood, and wish that our relationship had translated to adulthood. My condolences and love to Barb, Max, and Tom. I hope that Sam has found some peace and we all find it as well. Lots of love.

I am so sad to hear of Sam's passing. He was such a smart, sensitive, and talented person. He will never be forgotten.

I was his brother, but I did not know him very well. I have been overseas for the last 14 years. The Sam that I knew would have never quit. I miss that Sam and I hope that the Sam of today and the Sam of yesterday are at peace and that someday, I can understand why this had to happen
