Walter John Nash, Jr 86 years old Dec. 20, 1928 - Jan. 23, 2015 Retired longtime Los Angeles Dodgers executive Walter Nash, died Friday, January 23, at the age of 86. Walt was born December 20, 1928 in Trenton, New Jersey and moved to Los Angeles in 1953 after serving in the US Marines for 5 years and graduating from Rider College in Trenton, New Jersey. He fell in love at first site and married Cecelia Farrage in 1959. He joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1962 as an internal auditor before being named Director of Ticking in 1964. During his 33 years with the Dodgers he managed the distribution of over 100 million tickets to events at Dodger Stadium. He was instrumental in the development of the Los Angels Dodger ticketing system, that was deployed to a number of major league clubs. Walt retired from the Dodgers in 1994 as Vice President, Ticket Operations. He remained active after retirement and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Walt is survived by his brother Jim, his son Bill, daughter JoAnn, and 3 adoring granddaughters, Gabrielle, Juliet and Lauren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 30 at 10:00 am St Christopher's Church - West Covina. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to National Veterans Services Fund or USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in his name.
