Corene L. Pindroh

PINDROH, Corene L.

Corene L. Pindroh, 67, of Pasadena passed away on May 4 from a heart attack while traveling home with her husband of 45 years, Bob, from Yosemite.
Corene was born in Santa Rosa, CA where she attended Ursuline High School. She graduated from University of San Francisco in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science, advanced to her Masters in Accounting at CSU Los Angeles, prior to sitting for her Certified Public Accountant license. At USF, she met the love of her life, Bob and they were married February 1, 1969. In 1971, Bob and Corene decided to move to Pasadena where they would start a family. Through hard work and her love of numbers Corene advanced in her career at a young age and became a partner of Lucas, Horsfall, Murphy, and Pindroh. With over thirty-five years of public accounting service, she provided not only accounting services, but individual and business taxation preparations, trust administration and estate planning services to firm clients. She had specific industry expertise with closely held corporations, not-for-profit organizations, private foundations and high net worth individuals.
Corene was very dedicated to her work and her clients and was very proud of the multiple foundations and boards she sat on over the years. At her death, Corene sat on the Pasadena Community Foundation as a Board Member, the La Salle High School Board of Trustees, the Pasadena Respiratory Health Foundation: as President, the Francis Bacon Foundation, the Lluella Morey Murphey Foundation, the Schow Foundation as Executive Director, as well as a member of the Twilight Club and Pasadena Rotary Club. She was also a Past President of Women at Work.
Corene's other passion was her family. Throughout her life, she taught her family how to balance a career with family life, and she was her children's biggest cheerleader. Throughout her life, she taught her family to be dedicated, humble, tenacious, and ethical and to always take the high road. Her joy was watching her children, Matt and Karen, play sports and excel in their own careers and lives. This love and joy was carried over to her five grandchildren, Payten, Jack, Ella, Finley and Lincoln, whom she loved to engage in games, arts and crafts and watch play sports.
Corene is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 45 years, Bob of Pasadena, CA; son, Matt and Cayley Pindroh of Placentia, CA and daughter, Karen Kelly, of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, her brother John Heing of Santa Rosa, and sister Linda Larson of Minden Nevada.
Services will be held May 17 at La Salle High School at 2:00pm, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to either La Salle High School, Pasadena CA or to School of the Madeleine, San Diego CA towards the science laboratory (please put in memo: Memorial Fund family #1590).
