ELLEN 'SYDELL" CHAIET
December 20, 1946 - July 22, 2013
Sydell was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Harold and Bessie (Zweifler) Chaiet. She passed away peacefully in her Encino home, after battling a long illness.
Sydell will be remembered most for her 20 year career as Patient Services Coordinator at The ALS Association's national office. She was the voice at the end of the patient hotline - providing information and hope to the tens of thousands of patients and their families forced to face amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease).
Sydell is survived by her beloved birds, Einstein (African Grey) and Riley (Cockatiel); Lynn Klein, best friend of 27 years; her brother, Scott, of Brooklyn, New York; and numerous cousins residing in New York and New Jersey.
Graveside services Saturday, September 14th, 11:00 a.m., at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sydell's name to: The ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Rd., Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA, 91301, restricted to Care Services.
