Jeannette Crickmore

CRICKMORE, Jeannette

Jeannette Crickmore, 98, of Irvington, Virginia passed away peacefully January 1, 2014. She grew up in New Madison, Ohio and graduated from Ohio State University with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After WWII she and her family settled in Dayton, Ohio, where she taught English at Orville Wright School.

Later they moved to Covina, Calif. where she and her husband opened a Western Auto store. That store was soon renamed Crickmore's Auto Parts and they continued to own and operate their business until retirement. Jeanette was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Covina/West Covina where she held several offices including President. They were members of Covina Presbyterian Church. Later, they moved to Kilmarnock, Va. to be close to family and became members of Kilmarnock United Methodist Church where she continued her lifelong love of singing in the church choir.

Her husband, Clarence to whom she was married for 64 years, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bruce Watson. She also had three grandchildren, Robert Brookes and fiancée Veronica of Tenn., Julie and husband Web Begole of N.J. and Christopher and Felicia Watson of Pa., along with six great grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.

A Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Kilmarnock United Methodist Church. The family will meet with friends immediately following the service during the reception in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at the Greenmound Union Cemetery in New Madison, Ohio at a later date.
