Leo F. Cimbalo
April 22, 1921 - June 20, 2013
Leo Cimbalo passed away peacefully on June 20, 2013 in La Verne, CA. He was born in Rochester, New York to John and Catherine Cimbalo. Leo grew up in Rochester with his two younger sisters, Rose and Tina. He joined the Army
Air Corps in 1943 and served two years both in the U.S. and overseas as a radio technician. He married the love of his life, Mildred Ella Baldwin, on Sept. 4, 1943. They had three children, Richard John (deceased 2006), Cathy and Janice Cimbalo. Leo graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin in 1945 with a degree in Business Administration. He immediately began a career in the insurance business. He was transferred from Illinois to California in 1958 where he resided until his death. He became an independent insurance agent and, soon after, an insurance broker. He formed a partnership and opened Cimbalo-Mollett Ins. Agency in Pomona, CA. Eventually, Leo formed a partnership with his son Richard and the business became Cimbalo Insurance Services in La Verne, CA. After many years in the insurance business, Leo retired in 1996 (?). Leo and his wife, Millie, loved to travel and took many trips to Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Hawaii over the years. They both loved classical music and to dance.
Leo is survived by his sister Rose Valone, his daughters, Cathy and Janice and his two grandchildren, Michael and Adriana and his three great grandchildren, Jezebel, Kaira and Sindale.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00am at the UCC Congregational Church- Kingman Chapel, 233 W. Harrison, Claremont, CA. 91711 .
