Marilyn E. Yeomans

Yeomans, Marilyn E.
July 21, 1928-
March 22, 2013

In the late afternoon on Friday, March 22, "Lyn" Yeomans passed away following a 3-month battle with cancer. One of 3 girls born in New Jersey to Alfred and Bertha Lothes, she married David (Glenridge, NJ) at 19, they started a family and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, being a wife and mother of 4. They moved to Whittier in 1961 and joined the Presbyterian Church. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, entertain and play "Bridge." She nurtured and encouraged her children's creativity and dreams, and after raising their family and retiring, she and Dave enjoyed traveling, and visiting their children's families. She loved to quilt and sew, and donated time to her church and many local charities. Her unflinching faith in God brought her peace and comfort as her illness progressed. She passed from this world with grace and dignity, confident that God's arms were open and waiting for her, along with a needle and thread - and probably a joke that starts with "A Priest, a Rabbi and a Minister walk into a bar…."
Lyn is survived by her sister "Mickey" Bain (New Jersey), her children, Ellen, Patty, Don and Jeff, grandchildren Aaron, Amy, Dae, Katie, Dinah, Madilyn and Wyatt, great-grandchildren Carter, Matthew and Maya, and niece and nephew, Pete and Karen Yeomans.
In lieu of flowers, donations:
in her memory to Whittier Hospice House/Presbyterian Intercommunity or the Whittier Community Theater (www.whittiercommunitytheatre.org/) are organizations she generously supported and believed in.
A memorial service/celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of Whittier, 13222 E. Bailey St. with a reception to follow. (Go to: Lyn Yeomans on Facebook.)
