Robert Harold Gregg, M.D.

Died September 30th, 2013 of natural causes at the age of 89. Born in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles California on November 3, 1923, Dr. Gregg practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Covina, California after serving in the Navy and Marine Corps as a Flight Surgeon on the USS Bataan aircraft carrier during the Korean War
. Beginning in 1956, Dr. Robert Gregg practiced with Drs. Jay Mulder and was later joined by Don Jackson on College Street Dr. Gregg was active in the Covina community with the School Board, local politics, and in business where he started Citrus National Bank, Security Thrift and Loan, and Rancho Bank in San Dimas. He was also a major force in the founding of San Dimas Community Hospital in the late 1960's. Dr Gregg was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) in Roswell, New Mexico where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Young, who passed away in 2000. He was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University Medical School, but was also a medical resident at USC County Medical Hospital. Dr. Gregg is survived by his 3 children Patricia Ann Gregg-Hesterly and her two children Jason Gregg and Amy Elizabeth Hesterly; William Young Gregg, and his two children Erin Kimberly Gregg-Newman and Kevin Callaway Gregg and his son Wyatt Alan Gregg; and Robert H. Gregg II, and his son Austen Robert Harold Gregg both born on Dr. Gregg's birthday. Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday November 2, 2013, 11:00am at the Covina Christian Church, 240 S Grand Ave., Covina, CA 91724, with light food buffet to follow on the outside patio.
