I met Richie when he used to come in to my home brew business close by to get his ingredients for brewing his own beer! I became good friends with Richie and spent hours every day in the newly opened Pigs Ear in Diners Court. All the different beer bottles adorning the place, and the big Union Jack came from me....I LOVED the place dearly. Sadly things change and divorce brought me back to England. I was hoping to come visit this year but just learned of the pubs closing and the passing of Richie. I am absolutely devastated at this news. He was a wonderful, warm and generous soul. My sincere heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle and the family.

I was a frequent customer of the Falconer and did a street painting to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Falconer Riverside. One of my favorite memories was of the fun we had with Richard and Bill that night. They laid on the ground and posed with their arms across the Henry VIII we chalked. I'll remember him laughing and joking and having a good time. We all did.

I knew Richie (Wanka) in Germany while attending University of Maryland in Munich. We went to his bar almost every night. He was a Lizard - hard to explain; but part of a great brotherhood. He will be greatly missed. Rob Miller and I visited with Richie about 6 years ago in Redlands and we had a great time. We will never forget you.

Richard, many of your customers considered you a brilliant pub owner that developed wonderful friendships while having stimulating conversations with a bit of banter. I know you loved your children dearly. I will do everything in my heart to make sure your children know that you were proud of them and you loved them with all your heart. We will miss you dearly.

I never met you, but I enjoyed your pub and the community that gathered there. It exhibited a charm that was rare to find in the Inland Empire. The Royal Falconer also served the best bar food I've ever had! I hope somehow the pub can reopen in your memory! Your contribution will be missed!

We are truly sorry for your loss. Richard was one of a kind and aces in our book. We have many fond memories of times spent at The Falconers, but the one nearest our heart was the night we met you, Gabby and the 4 of us had drinks served to us on the loading dock/back door in Riverside. Richard will be missed. If there is anything we can do, please let us know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
