Albert Edward William "Bill" Lardner

Albert Lardner Obituary

LARDNER-Finally at peace after a long illness, Albert Edward William "Bill" Lardner passed away October 29, 2010 quietly at the family home he loved so much. Known as Bubba to his grandchildren and Ring to his colleagues, Bill was born January 6, 1923 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Albert and Margaret Simpson Lardner. Bill spent his five-year naval career in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard minesweepers patrolling the North Pacific, North Atlantic and the English Channel. During the latter part of his military service he became a Naval Instructor, which gave him great satisfaction. In September of 1955, he emigrated with his young family from Winnipeg to San Gabriel and began a career in industrial manufacturing with the West American Rubber Co and later with Voit Rubber Co. where he rose to the position of Vice President. His favorite pastime in addition to woodworking was his family. Bill and his wife Patricia maintained a vacation home in Santa Barbara where much of their leisure time was spent. His wife of 54 years Patricia and two grandsons Richard Lowell George, Jr. and Tyler Zane George preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his children Carol George, Marilyn Key, Brian Lardner, Leslie Lopez and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside service will be Thursday at 11:00 am at San Gabriel Cemetery. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena Directors.
