The city of Santa Fe Springs will mourn his death for many years. Dr. Lopez was one of the most motivational, inspirational people I have ever met in my 63 years on this earth. Dr. Lopez had many gifts from God, including the gift to help troubled children overcome their obstacles in life. He saw the BIG PICTURE. He focused on the positive and always beleived that children could be successful in spite of their mistakes, failures and misconceptions about what makes a person successful. In my 40 years in education, I have only met 2 other people who inspired me to do more to help at-risk youth and give more of myself to the South Whittier Community, as he did for Santa Fe Springs. We must all help Santa Fe Springs keep his dream alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rosa,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Although I never had the privilege of meeting your husband, it's easy to tell from the sentiments expressed here, the kind of loving and giving man he was.
