CARL JANSEN Obituary

DR. CARL JANSEN Age 78, passed away at his home in Redlands, CA, November 20, 2010. He was a member of the Loma Linda Seventh-day Adventist Church and served in many capacities in the field of medicine here in the San Bernardino area for the past 42 years. Carl was born January 29, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from High School at Highland Academy in 1950, after which he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He married Marguerite Sanderson in 1954, and recently celebrated their 56th Anniversary. Being President of his class he received a B.A. Degree from Southern Missionary College in 1958, and earned his M.D. Degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine in 1963. He obtained his residency in the field of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology and worked in that capacity until his illness. A field that has brought him national and international recognition. Dr. Jansen was loved and respected by his family and colleagues, and will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Jansen of Redlands, CA; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Richard Bracker of Redlands, CA: a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Robb Rice of Redlands, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Julie Jansen of Boise, ID; Grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kyle Rice, Kaylie and Aubrey Bracker, Luke and Jamie Jansen; a sister, Jane Douthit of Sutherlin, OR; along with many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at the Loma Linda University SDA Church on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in his honor at Redlands Adventist Academy, 130 Tennessee, Redlands, CA. Cortner Chapel is assisting the family. 909/793-2353.
