Doramae Hart Obituary

Dori Hart passed away on October 6, 2010 at Mt. San Antonio Gardens Health Center. She was loved by many including her friends in PEO Chapter PD, Claremont, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Claremont Chapter #110. Dori was born in Pasadena, California. Upon finishing high school, she continued her education at Whittier College where she received a BA in education and art, and at the Claremont Graduate School she received a Masters Degree in Education. In 1985 she received the Progress Bulletin Woman Achiever award in recognition of her 41 years of teaching in the Claremont area. In her teaching career, she served on the Curriculum Development Committee, was a member of the state School Evaluation Team, and was involved in programs for children's television including Seasame Street. Among her adventures, Dori directed educational tours into Africa, the Orient, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Her many affiliates include the Claremont Historical Society, Delta Phi Upsilon, Broadoaks School of Education Alumni Association at Whittier College, Cat Fanciers Association, and Fiesta City Cat Club. She provided leadership for all these organizations. In 1992 she decided to join her many friends at Mt. San Antonio Gardens where she lived until her death. She will be remembered by her generosity and positive attitude. A life well lived, Dori Hart.
