Dorothea Butler Crumrine

CRUMRINE-Dorothea Butler Crumrine, died peacefully at home on November 27, 2010 following a long and happy life. Born December 22, 1911 in New York, as a child she moved with her parents to Los Angeles where she graduated from Marlborough School and Scripps College. While working as a laboratory technician, she met Martin Crumrine whom she married in 1938, while he was a medical student at Stanford University. The Crumrines settled in South Pasadena and then San Marino where they remained happily married until Dr. Crumrine's death in 2003. Mrs. Crumrine was a devoted wife and mother to their three children: Judy Norquist of Pasadena, Don Crumrine of Pasadena and Long Beach, and Lynn Reineman of La Jolla. Always involved in her children's schools, she also served her community as an active member of the Pasadena Medical Auxiliary, spending long hours working at the Pasadena Dispensary. She was an avid reader and a competitive bridge player, and enjoyed sailing and badminton with family and friends. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition she leaves her brother Don Butler of San Marino and his family. She will be remembered with love and greatly missed. Family members will celebrate her life in a private memorial gathering on what would have been her 99th birthday.
