DOROTHY JUDKINS Obituary

Dorothy was born October 25, 1909, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, to Adelia and Daniel L. Knoll, and passed to her rest on December 22, 2010, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mavis and Dr. Eugene Shakespeare. Dorothy had lived in the San Fernando Valley since 1945 when they located here so Lance could begin his medical practice in Van Nuys. Dorothy had many interests in life. She loved to travel and they enjoyed many trips all over the world. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, working for her church, but most of all, being with her two beloved grandsons, Brent and Cary. They brought so much joy into her life. After 68 years of marriage, her husband Lance passed to his rest in 2000 and life for her was never the same. She bravely went on but her health gradually deteriorated. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mavis; her son--in-law, Eugene Shakespeare, M.D.; grandsons, Brent Shakespeare, DDS (Nina), and Cary Shakespeare, MD (Jan); great grandsons, Lance and Carter; great granddaughters, Kristina and Katelyn; nephews, nieces and a host of friends. Services will be held at the Van Nuys Seventh-day Adventist Church, 14615 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, Saturday, January 1, 2011, 2:00 p.m. Interment and a graveside service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011, 12:00 noon, at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth. In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund for the education of young people is being set up at the Van Nuys Seventh-day Adventist Church in her memory.
