She worked with her husband building their business -The Arrow Meat Company until they retired in 1981. She was an active philanthropist with her husband, supporting many charities with a favorite one being the Upland Animal Shelter. When she could no longer sew due to poor eyesight, she donated her sewing machines and sewing materials to Inland Valley Recovery Services in Upland and a room for sewing has been established in her honor. Support for youth was also a cornerstone of Dorothy and Bill's support to the community. She was a cook extraordinaire and hosted many celebrations at her home for friends, family and business associates. She will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Upland on the corner of San Antonio Ave. and 21st Street on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:30AM. A luncheon celebration will be held immediately after the service in the hall of the Church. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Upland Animal Shelter in honor of Dorothy Landecena to provide a fund for seniors who can't afford adoption fees for a cat. The address of the Animal Shelter is 1275 San Bernardino Rd. Upland, CA 91786 (909) 931-4185.
