EDITH COOPER Obituary

born Aug, 1914, died at the Health Services Center, Pilgrim Place, Claremont on October 1, 2010 after a very short illness. She was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art, class of 1936; free-lance artist, portrait painter, illustrator, sculptor, art teacher at Joselyn Senior Center for 20 years, exhibited in China, India and the US and recipient of the 38th Annual Older Persons Award in 2003. With her husband, the late Richard D. Cooper, YMCA Secretary, with whom she was married for 70 years, and their two daughters, she lived in China in 1948, and then India for a total of 22 years. She has been a resident at Pilgrim Place since 1984. A memorial service after the manner of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is scheduled for Sunday, October 10, in Decker Hall, Pilgrim Place, Harrison St, Claremont at 3:30 pm. Light refreshments will follow.
