Frances Stonebreaker Obituary

STONEBREAKER- Frances May
Stonebreaker Born Sept 21,
1925, in Essex, ON, Canada and
passed away peacefully on Sept
17, 2010, in Vista, CA with
family by her side. A faithful
wife, loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, aunt,
great-aunt, sister and friend. She
was diligent to live and practice
the Christian virtue of doing onto
others as you would have them do
onto you. Whatever she did she
did well, after her family was
raised she owned and operated
The Nostalgia Nook, an antique
shop, in West Covina, CA.
Eventually, she bought and
restored the building, which
became one of the historic
buildings in West Covina. Her
accomplishments and talents were
many: Certified Antique
Appraiser, Realtor, Private Pilot,
Dental Assistant, Restorer of
Antique Furniture to name a few.
She married Robert "Bob"
McKenzie, an RCAF fighter pilot
on September 23, 1943, who was
killed in action on July 7, 1944
and is interred in a military
cemetery in France. On
November 13, 1946 she married
high school sweetheart, Kenneth
H. Stonebreaker. They had four
husky strapping sons James,
Kenneth, David, and Robert.
Sadly-tragically three sons have
predeceased her in death. Frances
is survived by her third son
David. She has ten wonderful
grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Frances is
also survived by her brother
Robert G. Hetherington and
family, half-brother Dennis W.
Hetherington, half-sister Mary
Ann Hetherington-Glaeseman,
and step-brother James L.
Stevens. Frances will be missed
greatly. Services will held at
Inglewood Cemetery Saturday,
September 25, 2010 at 2 pm.

hope and the glorious appearing

We bought the antique shop from Frances and kept in touch with her for several years after. So glad that the Lord is with her and she with the Lord. She was very accomplished in her antique knowledge and I was pleased to have her as a friend and sister in the Lord. Diane Sibille

May Frances rest in peace with my wonderful Father and super-cool Uncles. May they watch over and protect us who loved them on Earth and still love them in Heaven. I'll miss you Grammie, truly the cleverest, most mysterious and interesting person I have ever met. I'll always be grateful for the special relationship we had, the lessons you taught me about antiques and restoration, our love of riding horses and catching birds with our makeshift traps in the stable out back. I am just sorry about what you had to endure. I hope you are peacefully and warmly smiling above us, until we meet again.

I know Frances is at peace and that her aches and cares are gone. I will miss her presence with us, especially that sunny smile that always lit up her face. I pray that those who feel the loss of her most will be comforted inwardly by our gracious Lord. He is real, and He is good. May the whole family be at peace.

May Frances rest in peace and rejoice with her family up in heaven especially with Bob who loved her and took care of her for so many years. May they watch over us who are need and be there to support our family when we are faced with so many obstacles and may they know that they are missed......so very much......and that Pam, Kristin,Kelli and Ryan love and miss them... but know they are truly happy and are in peace.
