Frank Messineo Obituary

Frank Messineo Frank Michael Messineo passed away on September 18, 2010 following a heroic struggle with MSA, a rare neurological condition. Frank was born in 1950 in Inglewood, California to Sam and Jean Messineo. He attended St. Bernard High School and went on to graduate from CSULB with both a Bachelor's and Master's in Industrial Psychology. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy; sister, JoAnn; daughter, Christina Hicks (Justin); son, Salvatore; and granddaughter, Gabriela Hicks. Frank was a gentle soul, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid reader and collector of art and books. His joys in life were his family, his devoted golden retriever, Hannah, and spending Sundays at local swap meets or with his Sherlockian friends. Frank worked for AFTRA for 34 years. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 am. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SDS/MSA Support Group at www.shy-drager.org.

Dear Nancy - It was very saddening to hear of Frank's passing. It was always a pleasure to see him with you at one of the Calabash meetings and know he enjoyed Sherlock so much. I offered my intentions at Mass on Sunday for the happy repose of his soul and will continue to offer them for him, you and for your family. All his friends will miss him greatly.

As one of many cousins, I was saddened to hear that Frank had passed. Even though we hadn't been in touch, I use to think about him and JoAnn so often. I remember when we were kids and they would come and visit us in New Jersey, we always had fun. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences to JoAnn and the Messineo family.

Though it has been many years since our paths last crossed, I have many memories of the hours we spent together during our college careers.
I'm thankful to read of Frank's well-spent life, and know that though he's gone on ahead, that his life has influenced many through his goodness.

Deepest condolances to Frank's family. I hadn't much contact with him for several years, but I remember him as a good and loyal friend when he and I were in college together. He was the kind of man who has not left, his services were just needed elsewhere. I celebrate his life.

Nancy,

I was so sorry to hear of your husbands' passing. My prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time. I wish I could attend Frank's service, however a previous commitment with my son for a 2-day American Cancer Society event makes it impossible. Please know that I am thinking of you and hoping you find comfort in your wonderful memories of your life together.

Sincerely and with sympathy,

Janice Allen (Downey, CA)
