GEORGE HOUG Obituary

passed away on November 6, 2010 in Aurora, Colorado. He was born May 9, 1920 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He spent six years in the Navy, most of which was in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1945. George was a long time resident of La Verne where he was active in Little League, Boy Scouts and Sea Exploring. He was a carpenter and a construction superintendent. He was a member of Pomona First Lutheran Church. He and his wife, Vivian, moved to Paso Robles, then Hesperia, and George recently moved to Aurora, Colorado. George was preceded in death by his son, Dennis, in 1984 and his wife, Vivian, in 2001. He is survived by his sons, George, Larry and Dale and his daughter, Valerie. In addition, he is survived by seven grandchildren; Rebecca, Mandy, Rusty, Sherry, Jeff, Kristin and Kimberly, as well as five great grandchildren. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 96000 7th Ave., Hesperia, CA 92345.

When Mr Houg lived in La Verne my father worked for him in construction and every now and then would talk about him in a honorable way.He would say that his boys were very good kids and i guess the apples don"t fall very far from the tree.May God bless your family in this moment
