Geraldine Hammond's spirit returned to God who gave it on August 5 , 2012, after suffering a major stroke. She was 81, the wife of 40 years to Robert Hammond . They lived in Covina for 27 years. She was born in Douglas, Arizona to James and Teresa Manwaring, the youngest of 8 children. She is survived by her two remaining sisters, Bonnie Guevara and Katherine Hooper, her sons Aaron and Michael Weeks, 3 stepchildren Lisa Greer, Amy Cutler and Jeff Hammond, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jerry was raised in Boyle Heights and enjoyed the diversity of the people there. She also enjoyed her travels to many places, especially Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they went for 26 years. These special people there loved to be with her, and she enjoyed speaking Spanish with them all, it was her first language. She was also a member of the Covina Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Wherever she went, she loved people, and loved to talk and joke with them all. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her and marveled at her continuous beauty, both inside and out.
A Memorial Service will be held for her on August 18, 2012 at
1:00PM at the Oakdale Memorial Park, Grand Ave. and Gladstone, Glendora, Ca.
