Harvey Ochsner Obituary

OCHSNER-Harvey Kermit Ochsner, was born in San Bernardino, on June 24, 1959 and passed away from unknown causes in Azusa on Sept. 18, 2010. He attended schools in Azusa and spent most of his life in and around the east San Gabriel Valley area. After leaving high school, Harvey joined his brother Paul and a neighbor in a masonry business. Under their guidance and instruction, he was able to learn the craft of bricklaying and worked as a mason for over 25 years. Numerous examples of Harvey's talent for quality and esthetics are to be found in residences and businesses throughout southern California. Harvey was considered by all who knew him to be a gentle and kind man with a great sense of humor and a willingness to be helpful whenever needed. He has a wide circle of friends and family in and around the Azusa area, and beyond, who will miss his humor, cheerfulness and amiability. Harvey is survived by his son, Ryan Ochsner of Houston, TX; daughter, Khrista Hammer (Patrick) of Fontana; ex-wife Shelly Pollock Ochsner of Hot Springs, AK; grandchildren, Tristan and Gretchen Hammer. He also leaves five siblings: Carl Ochsner (Victoria) of Chico; Paul Ochsner (Niki) of Claremont; Ed Ochsner of Medford, OR; Judy Jackson (Patrick) of San Dimas and Margery Satterfield (John) of Claremont. He is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey (2002), brother Steven (2004), mother Delores (1993) and father John (2006). A memorial event is pending. Those interested may contact Margery Satterfield at (909) 398-1732.
