HELEN SEAY Obituary

MOTHER HELEN SEAY Helen Whitaker Seay was born March 25, 1939, to the proud parents of Richard Whitaker and Jennie Mae Pinkston of Fort Worth, Texas. Helen was the sixth of nine children. Six have preceded her in death. Mother Seay was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved to California as a young adult, where she met and married her husband, Elvin Seay, Sr. Of this union, five children were born. They both accepted Christ, and were saved under the leadership of Elder Wright. Her husband, Elvin Seay, Sr., and two of her sons, Elvin Seay, Jr., and James Seay, have preceded her in death. Mother Seay was a very devoted mother to many. She was also the First Lady of Greater Love Church of God in Christ, which was founded and pastored by her husband, the late Elvin Seay, Sr. Mother Seay possessed the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. She held many titles in the church. You name it, she did it. She was the best cook ever. She really enjoyed cooking, and we sure enjoyed eating her delicious food. In 1982, Mother Seay and Elvin Seay, Sr. moved their family to the Inland Empire. She continued her fellowship at Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ. She later joined Refreshing Springs Community Church under Pastor Bobby Davis, whom she loved and highly respected. She held the position of one of the Mothers of the church and served on the Pastor's Aid and the Hospitality Board with a humble spirit. Mother Seay loved her family and friends. Her passion was her family. Mother Seay leaves unforgettable memories, which will be cherished by her three children, Helen D. Seay, Mary Rosborough and Mark Seay; one son-in-law, Larry Rosborough; one daughter-in-law, Dannette Seay; two sisters, Nancy Jackson, and Brenda Whitaker; one brother, William Whitaker; three sisters in Christ, Sis. Smith, Sis. Lockett, and Sis. Mays; thirteen grandchildren, Nakeima, Marquize, Robert Jr., Charles, Terrell, Aloha, Tashawnda, Alonzo, Sylvester, Galisa, Ryan, Irene and Rheji; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mother Seay will be missed by many and cherished by all. Rest on Mother, Grandmother, Great Grand mother, Sister, Auntie and wonderful Friend. We love you! Memorial Service: Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 10:00 A.M., Refreshing Spring Community Church, 1425 Spruce Street, Unit A, Riverside, CA. Final Resting Place: Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Mortuary: Tillmans Riverside Mortuary, 2874 Tenth Street, Riverside, CA.

My heart goes out to you at this time of sorrow and in the days ahead. Mother Seay was a BEAUTIFUL, PRECIOUS JEWEL and I thank God for the time that I was able to be in her presence. I will miss her but I am comforted in knowing that she is receiving her heavenly reward of Eternal Life. May the peace of God and His tender mercy always be with you.
