She was born July 13, 1942 in El Monte CA, to Piet and Frances Van De Witte. She graduated from Paramount High School in 1960. During high school she met the love of her life William Hordyk at a local ice skating rink. On July 1, 1961, they married and lived a happy life together for 49 years. She lived in Paramount, Cerritos, and Rancho Cucamonga. She loved the many children she cared for throughout the years. She had been a major influence on the lives of each and every one of them. Her passion for life and love of others will live on through them. Hilda will be especially remembered for the love of her family, the ability to make every family gathering special. Her Saturday morning "yard sales", traveling the world with the love of her life "OPA," hummingbirds, turtles and her amazing cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. I am so very saddened my the loss of such a wonderful woman. Hilda was my children's babysitter for several years and even as adults, they still share fond memories of their time spent with the Hordyk family. Both Mark and Dee Dee enjoyed the time spent in Hilda's loving care. She will be missed....Debbie Zwerner (formerly Rancho Cucamonga, CA)

To the entire Hordyk Family. I don't think I need to tell you how much I Love You All. You have all been an inspiration during this sad and challenging time. I'll miss the nights on the driveway with Hilda. But she'll always be in our hearts. Especially when I'm sitting on the driveway with Bill. Him, telling his stories of his memories of his beloved wife and us listening. I can't wait! It's an Honor to be your friend
