Bernekvist, Ingrid Linnea

Ingrid Bernekvist passed away peacefully on December 27, 2013, after a courageous fight battling lung cancer, at the age of 67. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, January 13, 1946, Ingrid came to California in 1966. Her last job was with Mission Hardware in San Gabriel, where she worked for 28 years as a cashier. Her love of cats found her volunteering at Pasadena Humane Society for 12 years in the cat ward and also many summers at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah.
Ingrid loved to travel and went on many cruises with her
beloved step-sister Eva Mulligan and also went to many
Rolling Stones concerts over the years.
Ingrid is survived by Eva Mulligan, her brother Kenneth
Bernekvist and sister Ann Louise Bernekvist in Sweden,
nieces Barbara Joseph and Christine Mulligan, Cory
Mulligan, Amanda Joseph, her two beloved cats Shiba and
Samantha, and many, many friends.
There will be a private funeral by Neptune Society at sea.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to
Pasadena Humane Society.
