Joan Ayres Obituary

Passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Calabasas, California. She was born in New York City and traveled the world with her husband, Jim, even living in Monte Carlo for ten years. Elegant and gracious, she was as comfortable dining with Princess Grace and Prince Rainier as she was going out for pizza with her husband and children. An artist herself, Joan championed young artists on the Riviera, helping them get their work seen. But above all, she was a wonderful wife, mother and sister, caring deeply for those she loved. Joan is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 45 years; her daughter, Laura; her son, Jimi; her grandchildren, Matthew, Isabel and Will; sisters, Jean and Alice; and brothers, Don, Ed and Arthur. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
