Joan Monroe Obituary

MONROE-Joan Leslie DeAnda Brandon Monroe, Age 87, of Monrovia, CA, passed away Sept. 24, 2010. Born Gertrude Ludlam on March 14, 1923 in Denver, CO to parents Noah Leslie Cleveland and Margaret Cecilia Ludlam McEntee Louvar. She was preceded in death by her parents, several husbands, her daughter Judy Aikins, and her brother Walter "Chickie" McEntee Jr. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Wilkison, her son Ron DeAnda, 8 grand- children, and 11 great grand- children. In 1944, then going by the name Elaine Monfredi, she made headlines by marrying Sonny "Woo Woo" Wisecarver and running off to Yuma, AZ to get married. In 1987 Lorimar Pictures came out with the movie "In the Mood" that recalled their life. Funeral services were held Sept. 29 2010 at Rose Hills. Everyone she came in contact with will never forget her and she will be sadly missed.

Gramma was a great and amazing lady. She never let anything stand in her way or the word No. My gramma was the strongest woman I have ever known. I loved her dearly and will always miss her.
