JOHN DIAZ Obituary

JOHN DIAZ Age 68, of Yucaipa, passed away on Oct. 11, 2010. He was born Feb. 3, 1942, in San Bernardino, the son of late Benito and Carol Diaz. He worked hard during his employment years with the City of Rialto, San Bernardino Recycling, but the family's favorite was when he was employed as a driver, and we called him the "Donut Man." He is survived by his sister and brother in-law, Sarah and Art Montijo of Rialto; sister in-law, Christene Diaz of Rialto; and nephews, nieces, God-children, cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Sammy Diaz. Services will be private.

Happy Birthday Nino! You are truly missed!

John Diaz was also my Nino. One of my best memories of him is that he and my Nina would take us bike riding as kids. My Nino and Nina had a two seater bike that they would ride together. They would take us and my Nino's nieces and nephews riding usually all over Rialto. I did not see my Nino in the last couple of years before he passed away and that I deeply regret. But I do hope he is at peace and reunited with his mom, dad and brother. My sincerest sympathies to his entire family. Love you Nino and thank you for being a part of my life.

I knew him as "John-John" and I rode the Dial-A-Ride bus with him for years and years. I had gone to see him in the hospital and taken him holiday bread and just argued with him, jokingly, and really gotten to know him and thought of him fondly. My deepest sympathies to Judy and the entire family. Many people share in your loss.
Respectfully....Liz Leslie (Yucaipa, CA)

John Diaz was my Nino (Godfather). My best memories were of him taking myself and my cousin Dale to the San Bernardino outdoor swap-meet at the Orange Show fairgrounds, and riding in his old white Chevrolet pick-up truck. I also remember when he would drop by my parents house and bring donuts from where he worked, or just stop by to see how we were all doing. I will always remember him at our house when we had family gatherings and parties at my Mom and Dads house. My Nino will be missed greatly by all of us who knew him. I regret not getting to see him as often as I would have liked. This is a sad reminder of how short life can be and that we all need to enjoy every day to the fullest, and to also make time for your family and friends every chance possible. My deepest condolences go out to the entire family. I love you Nino, and I will always remember all of the times we had the opportunity to share together and I will miss you. I know you are in a better place but you will be in our hearts and memories forever. Love Always, your God Son, Steven D.Lopez
