John Williams Obituary

John Herman Williams John Herman Williams passed away October 5, 2010, at the age of 75 in Rancho Mirage, CA. John was born April 29, 1935, in Long Beach, CA to John L. Williams and Helen Scherzinger. John worked for the City of Long Beach for 35 years as Deputy City Manager and General Manager of the Gas Department and Electric Department. He was a graduate of CSULB where he was a past president of SAE fraternity. He was a Director of the Fire Access Maintenance District of Indian Wells and President of the Colony HOA in Indian Wells Country Club. John was also a member of the US Air Force Reserves. Besides his loving wife, Caryl Williams, John is survived by daughter, Mindy Polishuk (Phil) of Berkeley, CA; son, John (Kellie) of Orinda, CA; step-children, Shari Stokes (Danny) of Corona, CA; Shelley Hartney (Bill) of Lake Elsinore, CA; Steven Rohrbach (Donna Sue) of Leon, Iowa; and Scott Rohrbach of Moreno Valley, CA. John's brother, Reese Williams lives in Long Beach, CA. John leaves 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 12, 2010, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 69-855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. The service will be Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at the address above.
